In Notes on the birds of Shropshire. Beckwith followed up his earlier papers with more detailed by-species accounts published, again in the Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society and serialised between 1887 and 1893. The seven parts follow. Beckwith died after a short illness on 1 July 1892 at which stage he had completed nine parts of his Notes on the birds of Shropshire, the remainder of which was, regrettably, perhaps never written and certainly never published. It was his intention to publish all his material in a book. He is buried in Eaton Constantine (SJ5906). The originals are available in the Shropshire Archive in Shrewsbury. |
