The plan view of “The property of Captain Spencer Kennard” [in the picture’s text] believed to have been executed by him while at sea during WW2. He is the author of the surrounding text, indistinct in the drawing and reproduced in the accompanying document file. Note the position of the Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) nest on the north bank, precisely the same as the nest there in 2018 – see accompanying Google Earth image showing it. Note also the text reference to the Corncrake (Crex crex). Thanks to Gareth Thomas for bringing this item to our attention and to the current owner Valerie Aikens.
