We are indebted to Tom Wall for this 1938 article about the waterfowl collection at Walcot Park estate in south Shropshire. Besides documenting what may be the first breeding record of Ruddy Duck in Britain, in 1936, the piece describes the breeding of several other exotic wildfowl though none have gone on the produce the problems caused by the Ruddy Duck.
